Welcome to Rent a Hen and House with Howard Harvest (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Website Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website Henandhouse.com (the “Site”), and apply to all transactions, bookings, and interactions related to our Summer Chicken Rental program.
By accessing this website or submitting a rental request, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our website.

1. Service Overview
We rent out seasonal chicken-keeping packages that include:
• 2, 3, or 4 healthy, egg-laying hens
• 1 portable coop
• Food dispenser
• Water dispenser
• 50 pounds of chicken feed per bird
• One bag chicken treats
• One bag coop bedding
• Optional accessories (e.g., electric coop doors, chicken toys, etc)
Rentals begin in spring/summer and end in fall/winter, at which time the hens and coop are returned to us.

2. Eligibility
To use our services, you must:
• Be at least 18 years old
• Provide a safe and secure outdoor space for the hens and coop
• Reside within our service area (as defined on the Site)

3. Booking and Payment
• Full payment is due at the time of booking unless otherwise stated.
• Bookings are confirmed via email once payment is received.
• Prices are listed in U.S. dollars and are subject to change without notice.

4. Customer Responsibilities
By renting from us, you agree to:
• Provide daily food and water for the hens
• Keep the coop clean and secure
• Protect the chickens from predators, theft, and extreme weather
• Return the hens and coop in reasonable condition at the end of the rental

5. Rental Ownership
All chickens, coops, and rental equipment remain the property of Rent a Hen and House. You are not permitted to sell, rehome, or keep the chickens or coop past the agreed rental period.

6. Returns and End-of-Season Pickup
We will coordinate a pickup time at the end of the rental season. You agree to:
• Make the hens and coop available for return
• Ensure they are reasonably clean and in safe condition

7. Cancellations and Refunds
Please refer to our Refund Policy for full details. In general:
• Cancellations more than 14 days before delivery are eligible for a full refund.
• Late cancellations may incur a fee or be non-refundable.

• All content on this site—including text, photos, graphics, and logos—is the property of Rent a Hen and House and may not be used without permission.
• You agree not to misuse the site, interfere with its operation, or attempt unauthorized access.

10. Limitation of Liability
We are not responsible for:
• Personal injury, illness, allergic reaction, or property damage resulting from the use, presence, or care of the hens, coop, or any rental equipment
• Damage to lawns, landscaping, gardens, fences, patios, or any part of your property caused by chickens pecking, scratching, foraging, or general use
• Any behavior of the chickens that may cause distress, noise, odor, or nuisance to renters, neighbors, pets, or other individuals
• Loss or damage caused by improper care, negligence, or failure to follow care instructions by the renter
• Any injuries or harm caused by the chickens to humans or other animals during the rental period
• Any fines, citations, or complaints received due to local regulations or neighbor disputes related to the presence of chickens
By renting from us, you acknowledge that chickens are living animals with natural behaviors that may be unpredictable. You accept full responsibility for their impact while under your care and agree to hold us, our staff, and our affiliates harmless from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, injuries, legal actions, or losses—whether to persons, animals, or property—that arise from or relate to the rental, presence, or use of the chickens and equipment.
We are also not liable for:
• Service interruptions or website errors
• Delays or cancellations due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to weather, illness, or supply chain issues
